The first main view of the app is the project browser. To show it again, click on the system tray icon. While the window is undocked, you can hide it by clicking on the close button. When the window is unpinned it will look like a regular window and will no longer hide itself when it loses focus. You can unpin the window by selecting "Undock from Menu" from the user menu or by dragging it by its header. By default, the window will be pinned to the system tray, which means that if the window loses focus, it will automatically hide itself.
When the application starts it shows up as an icon in your system tray. If you are logged in as a different user or on a different site, Desktop will prompt you to switch accounts and if you do it will restart and prompt for the appropriate credentials. For security reasons, you must be logged into Desktop as the same user on the same ShotGrid site as you are in the browser.

You will only need to update your security certificate list once. If you’re having trouble getting certificates set up, take a look at our troubleshooting docs for Firefox and Chrome and other browsers. We do this in order to connect ShotGrid with the Desktop app. The first time you open Desktop, you'll be prompted by your browser about certificates. You can download ShotGrid Desktop under the Apps menu.įollow the prompts and choose whether to download Desktop for Mac, Windows, or Linux.
